Features:

  • All clubs are made to a standard length of 36.5" (typical 8-iron length) which results in the same setup, swing plane, swing weight, ball placement, angle of attack, etc, with every singe club. This allows golfers to more easily develop a higher level of consistency all the way through the set compared to variable length clubs.
  • A new 2-piece hollow body design increases the MOI (i.e. forgiveness) of the head by removing all mass from the inside of the head to be distributed all around the perimeter. This is a very popular design style seen in many of the top clubs on the market such as TaylorMade P790/760, PXG 0311, Mizuno MP-20, Cobra King Forged Tec, Ping i500, G710, etc.
  • The hollow body construction also enables a variable center of gravity which improves the shot trajectory and backspin for each iron in the set, meaning higher trajectory shots with more spin on the low-lofted irons and less ballooning with the wedges.
  • High-COR face construction on the 5, 6, 7 irons for higher ball speeds to compensate for shorter shaft length on those clubs
  • Low constant offset (2mm) throughout the set
  • Traditional GW and SW profile shapes combined with milled faces and a custom sole grind for improved wedge play
  • Available in right-handed 5-PW, GW, SW, LW, with optional 4, 5 & 6 hybrids
  • Available in left-handed 5-PW, GW, SW, with optional 4 & 5 hybrids

Wishon Golf first introduced the Sterling single length irons in April 2016 only to sell out immediately, followed by another sold out batch 3 months later, and this trend continued for about a year as they increased manufacturing to keep up with demand. Those who are familiar with Tom Wishon know that he is one of the most knowledgeable club designers in the industry who has created more original golf clubhead designs than any other person in the 500-year history of the game, and Tom himself claimed the Sterling Single Length Irons were the pinnacle of his career. After 4 years of continued research and testing, Wishon Golf now brings us their next generation of single length irons called the EQ1-NX which builds upon the research and player feedback from the Sterling lineup.

Great golf clubs.

There nice clubs wish I would have went with a different shaft. Don’t get the distance I would like. About 10 yards shorter on all of irons.

Technically Perfect hybrids and irons

Great Clubs, as a golfer for 60+ years with variable length clubs, it is easy at times with one length clubs to get yourself too close or too far from at set up. I find mishits not due to the clubs, but lack of practice swing to guarantee the same set up distance. Recommend the EQ1-NX single length, but there is an adjustment period.

Very easy to hit

Clubs arrived well packaged and well made. Good service from this company. Clubs are easier to hit than my Callways I have been using. Really like them, if you hit them near the centre then you almost can't feel the ball. Had no trouble transitioning to single lenght - 9,PW and GW go a bit further, 5 and 6 iron a bit less, 7 and 8 about the same. I use Arccos so after 3 rounds have dialled in my distances.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • What is the spec of the LW? I assume it's 60 degree as it's a 5 degree gap between AW and SW, but it's not listed.

Yes the LW is 60°. That club was just recently added to the lineup, and we still need to update the spec table on the website.

  • Are these irons available in a left handed version

Not yet, but we should have them available in left handed soon. They were supposed to arrive by spring but everything is running behind right now. Hopefully by summer (June-July).

  • Could I order these hand have them soft stepped once? Eg Apollo stiff, soft stepped to play a touch soft?

Yes we can absolutely do that. To make a special request for the soft-stepping, once you are on the shopping cart page just click the yellow box which says "add a note to your order" and type your request there, and it will come through with your order details.

  • Can you adjust lie angle

Yes we can adjust the lie up to +/-3°. The stock lie angle is 63, so we can do anywhere from 60-66°. To request a custom lie angle you would just need to select the 'zero tolerance loft and lie' option at the bottom, and then on the shopping cart page add a note to let us know what lie angle you would like.

  • What is the head weight of each iron head for one length clubs

The full specs of the heads are listed under the "specifications" tab. But the weight of each head is 275g, and we can add up to 9g if needed to achieve a desired swingweight (usually only applicable if going shorter than standard length).

  • Can a set of Wishon Gen2 befitted with Winn W-7 grips? oversized

Yes we can install those grips for you, they would be an additional $5.75/ea. To make a request for a specific grip you would just need to configure the set as you would like it (select any grip option, doesn't matter which one) and add it your shopping cart. And then on the shopping cart page click "add a note to your order" and include a note with the grips that you would like, then place the order. Please make sure to specify the exact brand, model, size, and color. Once the order comes through we will add the requested grips to your order and send you an invoice to pay the difference.

  • When can I get left handed sterling one length irons

We've been told that the left-handed version of these ions should be available around the end of the year. Once we have an exact delivery date will open them up for pre-orders on the website.

  • What are the lofts on the Wishon Gen 2 irons

If you click on the specifications tab on the product page you can view the lofts, as well as all of the other details about the irons.

  • Is there a matching LW yet for the EQ1-NX? Cost?

Not yet, but there will be one soon. We dont' know exactly when because production and shipping from the factories is a bit of a nightmare right now, but hopefully we'll see them arriving by the end of the year.

9/29 UPDATE: We just got them in! Didn't even know they were coming in our next shipment until they just arrived. We will be updating the website soon to add the LW, but if you'd like to place an order on the meantime just send us an email after placing your order saying that you'd like to add the LW and we'll add it to your order and send you an invoice for the difference.

  • If ordered, can I get them 3° degrees up on the lie angles

Absolutely! Once you add your set to the shopping cart, click the yellow box that says "add a note to your order" and there you can enter your request for the lie to be bent 3° upright.

  • Are the 4,5 and 6 hybrids also 36.5" ?

Yes everything in the entire set, including the hybrids, is made to the exact same length.

  • When you ask for length is that based on the normal length for a golf set? For example, minus 1/2 inch is normal length minus 1/2 inch vs 1/2 from 7 iron length? that may be the same but had to ask

This particular set is based on 8-iron length which is 36.5", so if you order them standard length they would be 36.5" or at -1/2" they would all be 36". And whatever length you normally play with traditional clubs is what you would want to order for the single length set. So if you normally play your set of irons at -1/2" then you'd want to order these at -1/2" as well, and they would all be the length of your current (1/2" short) 8-iron. Hope this makes sense.

  • Can I order a set that is 70* upright?

The highest we can go on the lie is 65-66°, because these heads are 63° from the factory and the most they can be bent is 2-3° since they are cast heads.

  • Is it possible to adjust the loft and lie if necessary

Yes we can adjust them. If you have a specific lie angle request, just include it in the notes with your order on the shopping cart page. However, I would not recommend adjusting the lofts as they were carefully selected after doing extensive research to achieve the proper distance gapping between clubs. The only type of thing I would ever recommend doing on the lofts is adjusting the entire set a consistent 1-2 degress stronger or weaker if you wanted to raise or lower the range of lofts. But keep in mind, lowering the loft two degrees will also reduce the bounce by 2° which may make them prone to digging into the ground depending on your swing and angle of attack. And raising the loft 2° would increase the bounce by 2° which may raise the risk of hitting the ball thin, again depending on your swing.

  • Hi ! Can these be built at 35.5 length ? If so I am definitely ordering

Yes they absolutely can! The standard length is 36.5", so you would just need to select -1" for the shaft length and they would be 35.5".

  • What is the update on availability of club heads? Curious how come the wishon s2s shafts are not standard offering?

We received an email from Wishon last week saying that they should be receiving their shipment any day now, and then we will have the heads within about a week after they get them. As for the Wishon S2S shafts, is there a particular shaft you're looking for? We received notice from Wishon earlier this year that supply of the S2S shafts would be very limited this year which is why they aren't listed on the website. But if you have a particular model that you're looking for I can see if those are available right now.

  • Hello, my swing speed with a 7 iron is 74mph (150y) and my release is “medium” (not to early but not late enough): what kind of shaft would be the best for me? Thanks.

There are some other variables that come into play such as ball flight and preferred shaft weight. But with that swing speed I would definitely recommend a regular flex shaft. If you want a medium weight/mid flight steel shaft, the Dynalite 100 is a good option. If you want a medium weight/mid flight graphite shaft the Graphite Design G-Tech is a good option. Or you could go heavier or lighter depending on your weight preference, or higher/lower ball flight depending on your desired trajectory. I know that may not be too helpful, but making an exact recommendation without seeing your swing is difficult.

  • Hi, What shafts would you suggest to someone with above average swing speed (175y - 7 iron) who's played Px6.0, C-taper S+, x100SS and now Steelfiber 110S because of elbow tendinitis (all gone now thanks to the smoother shafts)? Would FST 115 x-stiff with pro-soft inserts work for me? Also, how can I fill the gap between 5 iron and my 2 iron (18*) that I currently play? Not a hybrid player... can I add another 5 iron bent to 22*? Would the bounce and offset be playable in such case? Regards,

Those FST115 shafts play a little soft for their flex, so in X-flex, they'll feel softer compared to the other X-Stiff shafts that you mentioned. The best fit that we have would probably be the True Temper Dynamic Gold X100. We do also carry Aerotech shafts so we could use those Steelfiber 110S  if you like those, but they are fairly expensive at +$40/club.

  • Hi.. I'm interested to buy the sterling irons. Do you shipped it overseas? I live in Brunei and what is the estimated cost of shipping to Brunei? Thank you

Yes we should be able to ship to Brunei. If the order total is over $600 US, which it would be for a set of the Wishon irons, then shipping is actually free!

  • Are these the 2nd generation of the Sterling irons from sterlingirons.com?

Correct, this is the second generation Wishon Golf single length set which replaced the Sterling irons. It is a very nice improvement in the design, they corrected a few of the negatives on the Sterlings and make a few other improvements with distance gapping between clubs and ball flight.

  • Are the EQ1-NX irons for better players only. Would they be good for senior with a 16 handicap with a slower swing speed? Is there a chart for individual club distance for different swing speeds? Are you an authorized Wishon club fitter? Do you custom fit the clubs or do you supply standard clubs? Thanks!

The EQ1-NX irons work for a wide range of golfers, they are not only meant for better players.  They do have a slightly narrower profile with less perimeter weighting, however they are still surprisingly forgiving. There is no way to list specific distances for any club based on swing speed because there are so many variables that come into play - angle of attack, ball compression, launch angle, spin rate, smash factor (how "pure" you strike the ball). You could have 5 different golfers who all have the exact same swing speed and there could be a 20-30 yard range on the distance with any particular club.

And yes we are an authorized Wishon fitter, however being an onilne retailer we can't really "fit" you since we aren't seeing your swing in person. But every set that we sell is custom made to order with whatever specs you want - shafts, flex, length, lie angle, grip, grip size, etc. So if you already know what you need then you can just order accordingly, or you can go somewhere near you and get fitted and use that information to place your order. But it doesn't need to be a Wishon fitter specifically as the fitting process is the same no matter what clubs you are buying.

  • Can I order these with Dynamic Gold S300 shafts?

Yes, the True Temper Dynamic Gold shafts are one of the options that we offer for this set. The S300 would be stiff flex, so you just need to choose that option on the product page to configure yuur set.

  • Do you offer any type of warranty, in case I might not like them after using them?

There is 1-year warranty which covers any sort of defect in materials or workmanship of the clubs. You can read more about the warranty details here: https://singlelength.com/pages/warranty-policy

As for a return policy, we do allow returns within 30 days but there are some conditions. If the clubs are new you would get a full refund, but if they are used then the return would be subject to a restocking fee. Please see the full details of our return policy here: https://singlelength.com/policies/refund-policy

  • Can you install Winn Dritac Wrap Standard Golf Grips Dri-Tac Wrap instead of the Golf Pride grips? Also my clubs are 2 upright. Where do I specify this?

Yes, we can install those grips for you. Did you just want the standard size gray DriTac wrap? Those would be an additional $4.50/club. If you'd like to get those grips, just choose any of the grips on the product page and then when you get to the shopping cart there will be a place at the bottom where you can click to add a note to your order. Simply mention there that you would like the DriTac wraps, and please specify the size and color, and after you place your order we'll send you a follow-up invoice to pay the difference for the grip upgrade.

As for the lie angle adjustment, we can definitely make them two degrees upright for you. To do that you would first select the "zero tolerance loft and lie" option under the premium assembly options at the bottom, as this will add the $3 per club for the bending. And then again, on the shopping cart page simply include the note that you would like to have them bent to two degrees upright rather than set to standard.

  • How is the 4 hybrid built in a set. Is it built to the same weight and length etc as the irons.

It doesn't need to be made to the same length as the rest of the clubs, but it is highly recommended and that's how we normally build it unless otherwise requested. The weight of that head is adjustable so we can make it longer if you would like, and we would simply adjust the weight of the head accoding to the length of the shaft to keep it the same swingweight as the rest of the clubs. But I wouldn't recommend going any more than 1" longer than the other clubs, because at that point you're not really gaining much in comparison to a traditional length hybrid and you're taking away from the consistent setup and swing of the rest of the set.

  • Regarding grip size. I prefer a larger grip, but I think the Jumbo Max are too big. Would you think theo oversized or your jumbo would be better? I was thinking for about a 1/8 + increase in grip.

When it comes to grip size, the terms "oversized" and "jumbo" are actually the same thing - it just means the largest size in a particular lineup. Grips typically come in 3 differetn sizes - standard, midsize, and jumbo/oversized, but the difference in size can vary from one brand/model to another. For example, with many grips the sizes will be standard, +1/16" for midsize, and +1/8" for jumbo. But then others are standard, +1/32" for midsize, and +1/16" for Jumbo. The base price grips that we use follow the latter pattern, running +1/32" for midisze and 1/16" for jumbo.

The JumboMax grips are a completely different animal, starting at +1/16" over standard in the smallest size (called the "standard oversized") and going as large as +3/8" (called the XL). If you want a JumboMax that is +1/8" that would be their "XS" size. And we can certainly install any of the JumboMax models for you, depending on the grip they're going to run an extra $10-$12 per club. Other grips that are +1/8" in a jumbo size would be Golf Pride (Tour Wrap, Tour Velvet, CP2), Lamkin (Crossline or Sonar), Pure Jumbo Wrap, Star Tour Wrap, Super Stroke (Cross Comfort or Traxion), or Winn (Excel or Dri-Tac). The last 2 brands mentioned are softer grips made of a syntehtic leather material with a foam core which adds a bit of cusion, and as a result it will make them fell slightly smaller when you squeeze and compress them.

If you are interested in any of those grip upgrades, just let me know which ones you would want and I'll give you a price quote.

  • Do you have lie angle options?

Yes you can request a custom lie angle, and these can be bent up to +/-3° from the standard 63°. To request a specific lie you would just need to select the "Zero Tolerance Loft & Lie" under the premium assembly options shown at the bottom, and then in the shopping card page there is a link at the bottom which you can click on to add a note to the order. Just list the lie angle that you would like in this seciton and we will bend them to that lie, along with making sure the lofts are 100% exactly to spec as well.

  • I bought a set of your clubs but there was not an option (that I saw) for a lob wedge or other short irons. Are such clubs available for purchase and if so where can I look them up? Secondly what is the thinking about longer iron such as three and four? Does the same logic apply with the 8-iron length? Thank you

There is no LW available for this particular set, but there is an AW and SW.As for the 3 and 4, there is no 3-iron available a club that low-lofted would be virtually impossible to hit at 8-iron length. There is a #4 however only as a hybrid, not an iron. Again, the reason for that is such a low lofted club is very difficult to get up in the air and the hybrid makes that easier as it has a much lower center of gravity which produces a higher ball flight. You would just need to give us a call at 858-859-8330 to order any of those clubs as we don't have them listed for individual sale on the website.
